Video pipe inspection is a non-destructive testing method where we inspect the interior of pipelines, like household pipe connections and smaller diameter sewer lines. Camera pipe inspection is done generally in order to detect the structural integrity of the pipe or sewer, detection of blockages, defects or breaks.
The Drain Brain uses digital video pipe inspection systems to inspect the blocked or questionable pipeline. The beauty of this system is that you, the client can visually see what needs to be done. This process helps to avoid more invasive methods of finding out why a pipeline is blocked.
Some of the components involved in the technology of video pipe inspection are first the camera itself, which in our case is a high definition digital camera which obviously has playback capabilities, and if requested we can give you a copy of. The camera is mounted into the head of the scope, which is made out of fiberglass. The scope or “snake” comes in a variety of lengths in order to accommodate virtually any length of pipe. Once the camera is inside the pipe you can see in real time what the inside of the pipe looks like and what the issue is.
